Transcapital advises J.C. David’s shareholders on the transmission of the company by transfer of 100% of the capital to a holding company owned by Jacana Invest and Apicap, the former shareholders owning 30% of this holding.
Created in 1973, J.C. David is specialized in the manufacturing and marketing of premium smoked fish products. The company perpetuates traditional production techniques, with the salting and smoking done thanks to wood-fired ovens. Being among the last companies transforming products through traditional methods, J.C. David operates more than twenty ovens in Boulogne-sur-Mer (62) and currently employs around fifty people.
The managers of J.C. David, who took over the company in 2001, called on Transcapital to organize the company’s transmission. 70 % of the capital has then been acquired by the family office Jacana Invest and by Apicap. A senior debt brought by Banque Populaire Nord Europe and CIC Nord-Ouest has completed the operation.
