Transcapital advises Groupe Aqualande on the transfer of 50% of its capital to Labeyrie Fine Foods group.
Groupe Aqualande, leader in the French market of the smoked trout, welcomes among its shareholders Labeyrie Fine Foods, a group specialized in foie gras and smoked salmon, which is currently in an external growth phase. It now holds the joint control of Aqualande group with Les Aquaculteurs Landais, an agricultural cooperative of fish farmers specialized in the breeding of the trout.
This medium-sized company from Bordeaux, created in 1981, displays sales of €86m and enjoys a 70% share in its domestic market. Investment projects are planned to increase the production capacities of the company.
Labeyrie Fine Foods realizes on its side a new build-up operation and remains owned at equal shares (43%) by the cooperative Lur Berri and PAI Partners. With sales over €1bn, the group strengthens its position in the smoked fish sector, in which the group currently operates through its subsidiary Delpierre.
