Transcapital advises Frédéric Manessier and the minority shareholders on the transfer of Bargues Agro Industrie to the cooperative group France Prune.
Controlled by Frédéric Manessier since 1991, the company was in 2005 the target of a first patrimonial operation (OBO), already advised by Transcapital and leading to the minority equity investment of Unigrains and Grand Sud Ouest Capital (Groupe Crédit Agricole).
Bargues is the leading European transformer of dried fruits with shell. Its products are essentially marketed to food industry and artisanal manufacturers. In 2013, Bargues Agro Industrie had commercialized more than 3,000 tons of dried fruits and generated sales over €25m. Following a process of open auction involving several European industrial players, Frédéric Manessier and his minority shareholders have sold all their shares to the cooperative group France Prune (€150m of sales for 45,000 tons of transformed products), via its subsidiary Maître Prunille. The company and its 50 employees lean in this way on the BtoB department of a large group able to accelerate its international development.
