Transcapital advises Groupe Aqualande on the acquisition of Norway Seafoods’ trout breeding activities in France.
The cooperative Group Aqualande has acquired the 5 breeding farms of Norway Seafoods group (formerly Viviers de France) located in Landes (Castets, Lévignacq, Mézos, Saint-Julien-en-Born) and in Charente (Les Ores).
This acquisition allows Groupe Aqualande to increase its control on its sources of supply and to strengthen its leadership position on the freshwater trout market, with a focus on the breeding of large trout for smoking and cutting.
As a result of this operation, the consolidated turnover of Groupe Aqualande amounts to over €70m and the yearly production of its fish farms to 9,000 tons.
Groupe Aqualande also produces around 2,000 tons of smoked trout marketed under its own brands (Ovive, Landvika…) and under private labels, accounting in total for around 70% of the French market.
